Founded at Crozer-Chester Medical Center more than 25 years ago, Asthma and Allergy Associates has a long history of caring for Delaware Valley residents. All three of the practice’s physicians are board-certified in pediatric and adult allergy.
Asthma and Allergy Associates specializes in diagnosing and treating allergies to medications, foods, inhalants, environmental agents, insects and other substances. They test for allergens and identify breathing problems ranging from asthma to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. They also evaluate and treat patients with chronic rhinitis and sinusitis. In addition, the practice has broad experience in diagnosing and treating allergic skin disease, such as urticaria (hives), atopic dermatitis, and contact dermatitis.
The practice combines sophisticated, cutting-edge care with a warm and compassionate approach. The physicians remain actively involved in research and teaching so that they will be aware of the newest treatments and other advances in the field. At the same time, they treat every patient as an individual.
“We aim to be listeners, teachers, and problem-solvers. We offer state-of-the-art care, but we don’t lose sight of the importance of establishing good relationships with patients. Often they have been suffering more than they should be, and we work closely with them to understand their symptoms and find a solution. We’re often able to help patients who have not been able to find relief elsewhere.” — Anthony Rooklin, M.D. and Sandra Gawchik, D.O.
